IntroductionThe Center of Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL) is serving as the National Center to Improve Faculty Capacity to Use Educational Technology in special education, early intervention/early childhood special education, and leadership preparation. As part of the strategic planning efforts, CIDDL is asking for 12 to 15 minutes of your time to complete a short needs assessment. This survey is designed to better understand current technology uses and practices of teacher education faculty in special education, early intervention, and leadership preparation. Information StatementThe Department of Special Education at the University of Kansas supports the practice of protection for human subjects participating in research. The following information is provided for you to decide whether you wish to participate in the present study. You should be aware that even if you agree to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without penalty.We are conducting this study to better understand current technology uses and practices of teacher education faculty in special education, early intervention, and leadership preparation. This will entail your completion of a survey. Your participation is expected to take 12-15 minutes to complete. The content of the survey should cause no more discomfort than you would experience in your everyday life. No identifiable data will be collected. Although participation may not benefit you directly, we believe that the information obtained from this study will help us gain a better understanding of the needs and concerns around educational technology use in your educator and leadership preparation programs. The information will inform the development of CIDDL. Your participation is solicited, although strictly voluntary. All records from this research will be securely stored in the researchers’ password-protected laptops and can only be accessed by the researchers of this study.
